Credits & pricing

Plain-language guides for creators — no engineering homework required.

Credits are how you pay for generation inside Demi. Instead of a dozen micro-transactions per episode, you top up a balance and spend it as you move through script, boards, motion, voice, and sound.

Think of credits as studio time converted into a number you can reason about: one balance, clear debits when a step runs, and automatic refunds when a step fails.

How your balance works

When you buy a pack, your balance goes up immediately after the payment clears. Each generation step debits the listed cost when you start it. If the system cannot complete that step, the same amount is credited back — you should not have to file a ticket for a botched render.

Episode-length purchases (when you buy a full episode package) work the same way at a larger scale: you pay the bundle price up front, and the pipeline draws down credits as each stage completes.

What costs what (overview)

Exact numbers change as models and infrastructure evolve; the Pricing page always shows the live grid. In general:

  • Script passes are the lightest touch.
  • Storyboards cost more because they lock nine anchor frames at once.
  • Motion costs more still because it is compute-heavy.
  • Voice lines are priced per line so short exchanges stay affordable.
  • Sound effects and music sit between single lines and full boards depending on length.

Refunds in human terms

Episode and credit purchases are final once they succeed — the same way a movie ticket is final after you walk into the theater. The exception is honest generation failure: if we charge you for a step and cannot deliver, we refund that step’s credits automatically.

That split keeps the product fair: we are not asking you to bet on black-box quality with no safety net, but we are also not a streaming subscription you can “pause” after watching.

Double confirmations

If your browser retries a payment confirmation, Demi recognizes the same on-chain receipt and will not grant duplicate credits. You might see a harmless “duplicate” response in edge cases — your balance should already reflect the first successful grant.
